The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan congratulated the residents of Tavush region on reopening of the Center highlighting the circumstance that children with disabilities living in Noyemberyan region have equal participation in community life. "Every child should live in the family, visit a school near his home and not be isolated for any reason. Services provided to children with disabilities should be community-based and decentralized, so that children and their families get support in their community"- Zaruhi Batoyan emphasized in her speech.
On June 26, members of the Coalition of Social Sector met with Ms Mane Tandilyan, the RA Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, within the framework of the EU-funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project. Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project Manager, presented the project and said that coalition of civil society organizations have been built in the 9 selected sectors of the project (justice, human rights, public finance management, business, education, social sphere: social inclusion of children with disabilities, agriculture, economy, and energy). “The coalitions have been awarded grants on competitive basis to implement their projects. “Armavir Development Center” NGO with partners “Martuni Women’s Community Council”, “Hope-98” Vayots Dzor Development NGO, and “Association of Young Journalists” NGO are the grant winner in Social sector. “The Inter-Regional Coalition, dealing with the Problems of Children with Disabilities has been created within the framework of the project,” Karen Zadoyan said. Ms Naira Arakelyan, President of “Armavir Development Center” NGO mentioned that the objective of the “For Quality and Accessible Inclusive Education and Social Support” Project is to improve the educational services provided by the educational institutions and the services of community support centres by raising their quality and efficiency in Armavir, Gegharkunik, Kotayk and Vayots Dzor regions, increasing the impact of CSOs on the processes of development and implementation of public policies in these areas. Minister Mane Tandilyan mentioned that it is obvious that cooperation with the Ministry of Health should be carried out as well. According to her, the trilateral cooperation of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Health Ministries with the civil society organisations will work effectively in these areas. “We will not have any results without work together. If currently we do not have any results with which we would like to compare or have at least a close result, it’s because these agencies have not worked. If the civil society is also a platform for our cooperation, our work will be very useful,” Mane Tandilyan said. The “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO in cooperation with its partners; Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, “International Center for Human Development” Public Organization, SME Cooperation Association and Union of Communities of Armenia.
"Armavir development Center" NGO together with "Huysi Metsamor" NGO in the regions of Armavir, Aragatsotn and Ararat Implemented a FREE three-month courses for people with disabilities and socially vulnerable with the following specializations: English Computer training Hairdressing The trainings were held successfully and are coming to their end, but preparations for the next stage are on the agenda, you can see the details here. The trainings in Armavir will also include the specialization of make-up. 118 participants were involved in the trainings.
"Armavir Development Center" NGO together with "Huysi Metsamor" and "For Education and Science" NGOs organized round table discussions in Armavir, Artashat, Kapan and Gavar cities in March in the framework of "Development of the Social Services Delegation System in Armenia by Strengthening CSOs and their target groups" project which aim was organizing campaign with the CSO participants for typical procedure for delegated social services. During the meeting the situation, typical procedure, outsourcing and implementation of competition rules were represented in order to collect Needs and Opinions of Civil Society Organizations including their real needs to apply and be included in delegation system. The program finds broad response among CSOs and beneficiary groups and participation is quite active and the motivation is great that the delegation process becomes more transparent, participatory, the competition and distribution of programs is rising according to CSO capabilities and potential. Round table discussions are held with the participation of three consortium sides.
Quadripartite Memorandum of cooperation was signed between RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, "Save the Children International" organization, "Armenian Caritas" charitable non-governmental organization and "Armavir Development Center" NGO. The parties to the memorandum assumed a commitment to unite their efforts to promote the quality of social services provided to children, elderly people and people with disabilities, their non-governmental organizations to improve the delegation process and the rise of their cost-effectiveness. For that purpose it is intended to create a sectoral expert group, which using the professional and human potential of the memorandum in 2018 will process all the legal acts, methodological bases, which relates to the description of the social services provided to these groups, quality standards, organization of transparent delegation process and other expected results.

“Armavir Development Center” NGO announces 3-month English language courses for young people with disabilities within the framework of the European Union-funded SGS / SGC-034-2 "Development of the Social Services Delegation System in Armenia by Strengthening CSOs and their target groups" project in the towns of Armavir, Artashat and Ashtarak to hold open tender for service purchase, for participation mandatory requirements are: Implement a three-month English course for young people with disabilities for a group of 10-12 people, Organize the lessons by the attached lesson plan, Arrange a test for the course participants Provide a summary of the course progress, successes, and about the encountered obstacles. - Requirements for the trainer. • Higher education in linguistics • Practical English Teaching Experience: • Group work and teaching skills, • Excellent communication skills in Armenian • PowerPoint Skills of presenting lessons in PowerPoint format. The sub-grantee "Armavir Development Center" NGO started "Development of the Social Services Delegation System in Armenia by Strengthening CSOs and their target groups" project on October 11in the framework of “STRONG CSOs” program. The Executive Director of the NGO N. Arakelyan made an opening speech, presented the project's purpose, basic actions and expected results. The aim of the project is to develop a social service delegating system in Armenia strengthening the social service provider CSOs and the youth and children with disabilities. The objectives of the project are: To foster employment and inclusion of our target group of young people (including children) with disabilities by supporting them to obtain technical and vocational training and effective social services. To strengthen the capacities of social services providing CSOs for joint advocacy and representation of their needs for enabling CSO environment and sustainability. Meetings held on the 11th and 13th days of October in Armavir and Artashat participated representatives of public and private sectors of regions, local self-governing bodies, social service providing organizations, NGOs.
